The Copyright Office Public Record Reading Room opens in room LM 402 of the James Madison Memorial Building. From there, registered users will access the card catalog, copyright registration records, and licensing public records. Bound application record books will be delivered to researchers upon request in the public area.


The current, temporary locations of some U.S. Copyright Office units within the Madison Building of the Library of Congress are listed below.

All hours of service, telephone numbers, and email addresses remain the same. These temporary changes are necessary during the renovation of the fourth floor of the Madison Building as part of the implementation of the Copyright Office Reegineering Program. The renovation will enable us to better serve you.
